I have 5x130 brakes on my Notchback and love the look of my gas burners, but sometimes long for the stock look. I'm having a hard time justifying the cost of Porsche steelies. Are there any reproductions out there? Is there anyway to have my original 4x130 wheels modified? |

No, you cannot redrill your steel wheels.
It would probably be cheaper to buy a set of drums/rotors in the 4x130 pattern to swap onto the car or get a set of dual pattern drums/rotors when you got the itch. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

The trick to finding 5x130 steels is find ads for Porsche 944 space saver spares. Unfortunately they're not as inexpensive as they once were. They're being harvested these days for the "outlaw" look on swb 911/12s and 356s. Still, the alloy spares are more sought after, so you can still find the steel wheels for a reasonable price on occasion. They are 15 x 5.5 inch wheels with ET30. And the hub caps from a Porsche 912 pop right on

I remember a number of years ago looking at spares and thinking I should get myself some that way, because it would be so cheap. But I didn't and they have really gone up. But I guess looking for good deals and getting them one at a time is the best route. That or maybe dual pattern rotors and run the originals.
Thanks for the advice. |
