Only 2 goals in the knockout stage for Argentina - I think Argentina will lose in regular time 2-0 but I'm still pulling for them...

I got Netherlands creaming Brazil 5-0 for third place.

You have to admit that World Cup fans have a wicked sense of humor.

Quote:
Pornhub asks users to stop posting videos of Germany f*&cking Brazil

Appropriately enough for nasty things happening around a cup, Germany’s crushing, 7-1 defeat of Brazil quickly made its way to Pornhub, prompting the adult site to beg for less for the first time in porn history. Highlight clips from yesterday’s World Cup match—most of them involving Germany’s Die Mannschaft going balls-deep on Brazil’s waiting goals an impressive three times in 76 seconds—quickly began popping up on Pornhub, under titles like “Young Brazilians get f#$ ked by entire German soccer team.”

Unfortunately, that gag soon got in the way of the site’s preferred type of gags, prompting its spokesperson, Pornhub Katie (Oh, of the Connecticut Pornhubs?), to plead for decency from users of its masturbation movies.

Joachim Loew on extra-time chat with Mario Goetze: "I said to Goetze, 'Show to the world that you are better than Messi and you can decide the game.'"

This is why I had to listen to Andres Cantor narrate the game on the radio. Good job Germany.

Well I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the 2014 World Cup...despite England's poor performance...wasn't expecting much from them anyway.

Several pleasant surprises in the tournament like, Costa Rica, Columbia, Chile , USA who showed it wasn't all about having the best players but having players working for each other as a team. Enjoyed the generally open and attacking style of Football adopted by most teams which made it the best World Cup for many years.

Thank you Brasil for the Carnival atmosphere...until your team's spectacular demise and a competition that ran more smoothly than most predicted. Hope you rebuild you nations pride in "The Beautiful Game" without throwing away the joy and flair for which your great teams of the past were known and loved. Very Happy

Hats off to Germany...best team in the tournament by a country mile, well deserved.

All that time, money, and effort expended, to win a trophy that looks like THAT? Looks like they picked it up at Aunt Martha's garage sale.

Um, no. The championship, sure. But that trophy? The only thing worse looking, if possible, is the new college football trophy they're trotting out. Hideous. Mad

Ummm, italian designer, solid gold... to each his own, but I'm pretty sure this thing isn't showing up at Aunt Martha's garage sale...

2 of the 3 games so far have been far from a snooze fest and even the one that ended in a 1-0 morocco vs iran was exciting from end to end. alot of the same people that say soccer is boring will be the same people who watch tennis, golf or nascar racing which i consider all 3 boring

Nascar is the worst.
I'm with you on the World Cup.
Games I've watched so far have been great with the exception of that opening Russia game. These middle eastern teams look like they have been playing the sport for mere months.
