I fortunately got my money back from this waste of skin. I got suspicious when the first excuses about the books being in a warehouse miles from his home started. I started a case with PayPal long before he promised he would deliver. He needs a good hard kicking, it’s theft.

Good for us too know though that 99.99% of car guys are good and honest.
I guess this cockroach must really need the money.
Karma is a bitch !
Hopefully PayPal comes through.

Hi John,
His name on PayPal is Julio Fernandez Garcia - Valenciano

I have an email address for him also off PayPal, which I've mailed several times with out reply.

I have a couple of friends from Spain at work who are trying to get me more information, I'm on a mission now !

I sent payment as a gift, not sure how I did that so PayPal don't want to know.

I too sent a payment for a book. I know for a fact that I didn't send payment as Friends/Family. When I made a claim for a refund from PayPal they said it was sent as Friends/Family payment and there was no payment protection, so no refund. I persisted as I do a lot with PayPal and they refunded my payment within an hour.

I'm wondering how my payment was completed as a friends/family transaction when I don't even have that option for payment.

Well good news everyone, PayPal came through with my refund.
I hope everybody sees this post and takes note of the Cockroach s
details.
Hopefully Everett has banned this POS. We don't need his ilk in our great past time on this excellent VW site.

So Iam still looking too buy that book Any ideas 🤔 ?

So, yeah. Way to go internet. A quick look at book prices range from $450 to $2900 + Rolling Eyes

Someone needs to scan this prick and set up a bootleg torrent. Wink Laughing

After getting robbed by July76, as I never heard anything from him on here or via E-mail.
I bought a book of Belgian E-bay, was an English version for a very reasonable amount. Arrived is in nice condition etc.
Original book sale price was £30 ( I did pay a little more than this )
So keep looking they are out there, and for a good price.

Sorry to hear about that dude trying to scam you guys. He could at least had the decency of sending a brick, like they do where I live. Back in the halcyon days before Netflix, I had quite a collection my favourite television shows on DVD, all bought in my country's equivalent of eBay. During this process I got most of them right, but I got a few counterfeit ones, two books (one of them actually good, one rubbish) and a set of five identical DVDs with a pirated porn video. I get that scammers gonna scam, but why have the trouble to burn five DVDs with the SAME smut movie? And the series in question had only 3 discs! =/

Anyway, back to more cheerful matters, if I may. I remember that one of us here had Mr. Barber contact, did anything came of that? I would love to have a copy of his book without having to mortgage my home. The way it is now, those who have this book are the Illuminati of the VW community =)

Pretty reasonable copy for sale now (relatively speaking)

There has been a few copies for sale in the $200-300 range lately. For anyone yearning for this book, I do not think they will get much cheaper unless there is a reprint. I have seen them advertised for $2000 last year!

I have one already but I am sure someone will appreciate the offer.

Regarding the $2000 offers, I don't suppose Jeff Bezos got any sales.

If anyone is interested, I have a mint condition copy of the book for sale. I'm not looking for silly money for it, as I'd rather it went to a genuine enthusiast.
Please PM me if interested.

Thanks,

Gavin.

Buyers Beware! There is now a pirated / counterfeit version out there selling for what seems to good price. In reality, it is a poor quality scan of the original book:

Also, for those in the USA, note "May not ship to United States..."

With the phonies going around, I'd also check ebay's return/guarantee policies.
