Does anyone know where I can find brake shoe push bars for an oval until 1957?
I can't find reproductions and Wolfsburg West does not have them either.

Thanks.

The originals are still in the car and works, but they start to get worn out.
That's why I wondered if they could be found somewhere new or repro, but apparently nobody makes them.

I have NOS from the later model after 1957.
Next time when I check the brakes, I will take a look if I can modify the later ones or maybe welding up the old ones.

Regards.

Meanwhile I found the VW part numbers: 211 609 631 (left) and 211 609 632 (right).
They were also used in VW T2 to chassis number 20 117 901, last barndoor bus.
I have been able to find them based on the part numbers.
Now waiting for an answer if they are in stock and can be delivered.

Regards.

I think the oval push bar may be 113 609 631A used on both left and right side. See pic from der Berater VW parts mag.

Strange, may be a mistake?
Der Berator VW parts says 113 609 631A up to chassis No. 1 673 410 and from chassis No. 1 673 411 ... suppose this is an error.
I have 113 609 631A NOS push bars and they are everywhere listed for Bug 1958, starting at chassisnumber 1 673 411.
See also http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=113609631a
The ones on my early Oval (Oct.1953) have a different shape.
These early Ovals have many Zwitter parts including the brakes.

Der Berator also list the Type 2 push bars 211 609 631 and 211 609 632 for Type 1.

I did get an answer, they were in stock and I've ordered them.
So I'm waiting for the parts to see how they look like.

Regards.
