Well I’m positive you see that title name a lot...so bear with me guys!
Got a customer who has this buggy he wants me to get on the road for him. I have very little buggy knowledge (most bay and vanagons and a couple other models) and would love some help identifying where it came from.
I can get more pics if needed:
Sits on a bug pan but not sure what year.
Thanks guys! _________________ Stuart Zickefoose

Not sure what 59xxx number is unless it is a "state issued" (Washington) VIN number.... Actual VW chassis number (VIN) should be a few inches ahead of shift coupler access plate... Should be a 7 digit number....

As for body... Never seen it before.... Might check DuneBuggy Archives...

Underneath its all VW no matter what body is...

I believe you have a George Barris Tbuggy. Most seem to be the C-cab style, but I think you have the open top version. Here is a link to an old ad for sale. _________________

Dan, just my sense of humor. I’m betting the question gets asked here all the time about “what’s this buggy I have” so it was just a non important random number for effect. Nothing to do with the buggy.
Thanks guys! This gives a model to start investigating, I’ll dig in and find out what I can! Much appreciated! _________________ Stuart Zickefoose

Got it fired up! 10-12 years since last fire and she’s purring real smooth
Next up is a full new pedal assembly, with a “big boy” kit to widen the clutch a bit for the bigger owner, new accelerator and clutch cables, new plugs either cap and wires, and fresh fuel lines
All it took was spinning the motor a bit with plugs out to cycle the oil, then new Condenser and points and coil and she cranked right up.
Thanks for all the help guys! I’ll see if I can’t keep this updated a bit as it appears to be a tough to find model so may as well document what I find for the next guy
Pics to come, video likely too! _________________ Stuart Zickefoose

Body looks like the Barris we have. Headlights, roll cage, and a few other things don't appear to be original. Looks like a lot of fun!!!! |

Funny, your right around the corner from it too...!
this one got running, put a new motor top end on it, and plop it in to find a major leak (i didnt build the motor so no clue) and then a brake nd steering issues resulted in it getting parked inside for the winter. maybe soon it will hit the road again.... but it did drive! _________________ Stuart Zickefoose
