Pretty clean man, pan looks great. That's a ton of work for three months.

Don't forget to install the missing ductwork on the doghouse outlet.

Anxious to see the shell painted.

SO we now got fenders, deck lid, and trunk all blasted and coated. Also have all sheet metal that we will need to finish all of the fab needed for this job.
I'm still undecided between GUARDS RED or a killer silver with red interior.

Great work so far. I vote for Silver with red interior.

This looks Fantastic! That motor is so beefy with the fat plumbing. I love the Fuchs. You can't go wrong with either color. What fun this will be to bomb around in! Smile

Well thought I would update build. So as of today body and paint is almost done. I think car will be color sanded and buffed possibly by 25th of June. Looking to mate body and pan the same week.
But man its been a long time coming and almost there. Looking forward to running around so.cal to many VW Logo shows and events to see all of your bad ass rides. Cool The wait is killing me!
Hope I do good and worthy to the VW GODS! Pray

This is going to be a beautiful car when done! It looks smooth as silk!

But my favorite pic of the entire thread is this one.

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1696507.jpg

I don't know why I love to see lowered cars with body panels missing in the middle of a restoration but this is straight up porn to me!

Car is looking great, man.

It's inspiring me since I just dragged my first Bug home and started tearing into it a couple weeks ago

You're missing a ton of tinwork under the engine, that is meant to direct the hot air away properly, are you planning on installing some once the body is finished? It would be a shame to put all that work and attention to detail in just to overheat that engine.

Good color choice for sure! The only thing I would have done differently is euro style bumpers with the small guards on them, like this-

As it sits its in the stages of fit, so yes car is not done yet. As far as bumpers go my plan is to keep all exterior body and interior as close to stock as possible with a little twist. It was a ruby car but I wanted more red so I picked VW's big brother color of Porsche "guards red". Thanks for checking it out!
