Hi,

I've been digging and digging trying to find out if there is a camper version of ANY type van/bus that has three forward facing seats to accommodate three car seats (I have children 3,4 and 5).

With the narrowest car seats on the market I need a back bench of at least 51" width. Preferable to have three lap belts already installed but if the bench is wide enough but only comes with two I can add a third.

I've owned a weekender in the past but want to switch to a camper.

Thank you in advance for your time and help!

Brett

so then by 'camper' you mean with full cabinets as well as a pop top. ??

that I doubt you'll find.

there are weekender configurations in both the vanagon & Eurovan chassis that will fit 51" and 3 belts wide and a poptop W/upper bunk.
you can fairly easily add a DIY/custom/westfalia kitchenette to a weekender.

the EV will be more crowded as it has a shorter living space length.

you can fairly easily add the necessary 'top tether' to either the EV or vanagon rear bench.

A '74-'75 Bus Westy will have the seat you want. It is the only Bus camper version I know of that has a 3-person rear seat. It also has the rear-hinged pop top. Sink/Fridge cabinets are mounted directly behind the front seats. Only drawback to that setup is no swivel seat, if that is your thing. You could certainly remove the cabinet behind the passenger seat, cut the firewall, and install one if you wanted.

@danfromsyr - I was thinking would have to do weekender (I've owned a few Euorvan weekenders). Didn't think of after market cabinets though. I'll check into that. Thanks!

@vwwestyman - I saw a few '73 or '74 online that looked like they may work. I'll do some more digging on those. Swivel seat is nice but happy to give that up to get the other stuff. Thanks!

... just get 3 belts and install them with washers and bolt and nuts, drilling holes... who cares if they are originals or not. then you can bring your kids along, with you, for a lasting experience, of a lifetime = just do it!

Then, let's see if you can train your hound to wear one.

How timely. This thread will show everything you need to know about that '74 and '75 setup!
