PPG color used on Stacey David's GEARS Rat Roaster project...Kind of a Jolly Rancher Apple Green Metallic. That was all I could find in vwbowtieman' s post.

The Jolly Rancher Green was super expensive at over $ 500.00 per quart. PPG on Pennsylvania Ave in Charleston mixed that paint and is close to the JR Green. They called it "Anti Freeze" for about $ 250 a gallon. They should still have the mix code and are reasonably close to you Tony.

That's a green I could like. Make sure you tell us about it when you shoot it.

Thanks everyone.
Thanks Joe. I will stop in and pick me up some. I'm getting ready to shoot it with slick sand this week.
I'll start shooting some pics. I have been sanding and have got down to the original paint. I hate that one of the p.o. painted over it.

Has anyone tried to sand down to the original gel coat and then spray clear over it to get it to shin again. I might try a small spot and see how it goes. Ill let you know.

Shoot over white, then clear.

Ok
I've been sanding and look what was under all that primer.
I don't think I can save it all. I was thinking of just shooting a lot of layers of clear over it and call it buggy patina. What do you think

I finally got the paint on. What do you think. I think it is pretty close to the color I was looking for. I like it. It is called zombie green metal flake.
3 coats color and 6 coat clear. I haven't got to buff it out yet.

Im thinking about putting a flat black stripe on the part of the hood where the fill cap goes. P/O cut the fill hole a little to big. What do you think about a flat black stripe?

Reading through this thread I was thinking... Nope. At $500.00 a quart I though Oh, hell no! I'm in the wrong hobby. But your result is spectacular. The way the curves of the body catch the light. Nice. Good choice.

$500 is diddly squat in this hobby! Guys spend that on a set of 8 valve adjusters. With proper prep a quart should be enough to cover one of these bodies.

Beautiful job Bud! I love it. And yes a flat black racing stripe would look fine.

The paint wasn't that expensive. I think I paid 375 for a gallon of paint and clear. It came as a bundle. I also put a gallon of slick sand primer down first.
