This is a picture of one of the fittings that come with the Kaddie Shack hard fuel line kit for Kadrons. It's a Parker connector, is it supposed to have an O ring in the groove behind the wedged portion or is this just the way they are manufactured? This kit looks very nice when mounted and professionally made!
Thanks, Mike

I used to use those in a previous life except I think they were Swagelock. I am 99% sure the cone is one piece and the ring behind it it a separate piece. There is no O-ring. The seal is made by the cone fitting into the other fitting. And for some reason I recall that you do NOT want the cone too far back on the tubing or it wont seal well. In other words, you dont want the tubing to bottom out in the fitting.
Double check with Parker or Kaddieshack to confirm. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

Not a 0-ring groove, that's the juncture between the native ferrules (1ea: crush sleeve & it's drive/compression ring). Fast-forward to 0:48 here for a similar fitting by Swagelok (R) & note the layout.
Toward the end is proper instructions to re-use them:

I'm not sure how compression works.
Turbos don't produce torque, they produce HP. Instead of torque.
The real problem with NA engines is you don't hear the nice whine of the turbo as it spools up.
Before I commit, I'm going to do more research because I don't really know what piston rings are. |

Funny how things pop up on here that bring back old memories.. Those fittings are pretty salty from what I remember. Man, I used to use them all the time back in the day with stainless and inconel tubing.... _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.
