I found this bag in a new bus I bought. Just wondering if anybody recognizes it? It has a reinforcement in the bottom so I'm assuming it is for poles? It doesn't match the westy tent I have, but I don't have any bags for that so I'm probably going to use this one. Roughly 49" x 18".

That is your tent pole bag. It’s in near pristine shape! The bags come in random colors. I have an orange one a blue one and a yellow one.
Here is the tent and pole bag side by side. _________________ 71 Westy 1600 DP, all stock Bus 1

I haven't set it up yet! I got it 2 weeks ago from a friend and it's winter here. It really bums me out!
I am missing tent stakes and ropes yet, but I'm sure I can make some up. I might set it up in my garage soon. _________________ 1971 Chianti Red Westfalia x2

I bet you will find the stake bag, they also came in random colors including stripes. Mine is the small yellow bag in my picture above. Should have more or less all these pieces for the tent set up. _________________ 71 Westy 1600 DP, all stock Bus 1

I bought my tent seperate from the bus, just happened to find that when cleaning it out. I'm missing the (4?) poles for holding the flap open and all the stakes and ropes. I'd love to get some originals, but I'll just probably make them. Thank you for the photos, I cant wait to get this thing set up. _________________ 1971 Chianti Red Westfalia x2

I thought I’d share my latest side tent find. Saw an ad on Craigslist for it and it looked pretty good in the pictures so I though I better go check it out. Glad I did. This tent is like brand new. It’s the second like new tent I’ve found on CL. They are so nice that I have yet to use them and only put them up once in the living room. Some of the photos don’t show the color as vibrant as it is but it’s in perfect condition. I posted the other one on here a while back but here is the new one.
Pictures aren’t great but trying to show details of the condition. It’s missing a few stakes and I can tell it’s been moved around because the bag shows wear and the poles are just a little chipped up but otherwise the tent itself could not be nicer. The date stamp on it says 1969. Not sure what year my other one is but I’ll have to take a look and see.
I love these tents. I have another tent we actually use (its a nice one but not like these) and I bring it on our longer trips when we stay in one spot for more than a day. They work so well with the bus and a family. Especially when it rains or you’re in a crowded campground and want a bit more private space.

Thats a very common pattern that several makers copied - including Westfalia. Post up what poles you can't figure out.

I swear the measurements are in one of the owners manuals, but haven't found them. I did find this info: The floor is 6'6" by 9'8" at this site:
http://tents.wetwesties.org/loaves.html |
I did find that as well, but couldn't locate the full measurements. _________________ 1974 VW Combi 1800 Auto. Weber 32/36 |

I set up the 80 Vanagon tent at the Familienfest show last Saturday. This tent goes well with my bus and seems to be a crowd favorite. I love the details and the size of this tent. I got 2nd place Camper.

Um, nope. But I don't think I was robbed. I wasn't expecting anything. I didn't even know there were awards. It was Judged by the staff, which I prefer. The Familian Fest had high emotions that day. It had been a canceled show for may years. The venue is the perfect lace to hold a show and hopefully it gains traction. It holds fond memories back in the day as one of the better shows in the area. Now its back. There were all kinds of old die hards in attendance - local stuff. Even Dave Cormack of VWTrends fame came down to it. Randy Randar was honored and the days theme seemed to be paying homage to past locals and supporters of the old event. I think the guy that got first tied into that? I dont know for sure and dont care really. People enjoyed my bus. I had a sweet spot and got to display some rarely seen stuff.
Dave back in the day at his house in Escondido - I live like 2 minutes away from where he lived.
The 1st place winner.
Next year Ill bring something with the intent to win
