Great, thank you for that. There don't seem to be too many of them around. Finding anything on them to give away the country of origin seems to be a little difficult. The US seems to be the general consensus? I'd like to know the weight of a genuine one for comparison. Thank you again for locating that page; I've read quite a few however hadn't got to that one yet. Interesting little product thats for sure. |
I see I wrote that I thought it was made in the USA as a copy but I can't remember where I heard that information.
There is another one that says "Caddy" that is made in Japan:

I see that one has a sticker, which make me wonder if ours had a Sticker too and it fell or wore off _________________ How to Post Photos

Hi
I was recently able to park my second Assistent in my garage. It has some great Patina and fairly complete, just the one front wheel needs replacing

Anyone ever seen a green one? My pal picked one up yesterday in near enough as new condition. It's not a copy and it is a newer model. It has definitely been green since new but we've not been able to find out anything about it. There is one pic in this thread, but that's it. Anyone?
I really wanted to keep it for myself, but I've got a 172HD and two 166s already, so I let him have it. I'm regretting it now. |

Just picked this up. Don’t know much about it but I think it’s cool.

Very sweet. I consider it the Cadillac of Hazet tool carts for sure. The 172 HD is a bad ass cart. My favorite one.

Yeah, my first Hazet was a 172HD. Bought it off an old boy in Zaandam for 25 Euro. He was just glad that somebody was going to use it. Wouldn't surprise me if it was ex-Schiphol but I never asked. Sometimes it's better to dream than know for sure.
Have picked up a few 166s since, but the 172HD is definitely my favourite.

Hi Wout,
I would certainly be interested if you make a repro stool for the Assistent! /tower |

My new Hazet Assistant swap meet cart. It was too rough to try to restore.

|
|
I'm trying to decide between either to buy a survivor 166N or brand new... I like the smaller size, being able to fold the supports down and throw in the back of a vehicle. I DO NOT want plastic shelves and definitely don't want shelves that wobble and seem 'loose'. So my concerns with going new:
• Does the NEW 166N use plastic middle shelves or is that only the 166C?
• When did the top change from metal to plastic? Thoughts on durability of the plastic top?
• Also is it the new one that has a wobble issue on the middle shelves a bit because they do not have the locking mechanism with tightening down the knobs?
TIA |
