Congrats on The Best of Show honors, it was clearly the best car there top to bottom. Love the stance on your car, how did you accomplish it? |

Lucky's Fab shop 4" narrowed front beam. I would have liked for it to go an inch or so lower in front but the tires rub when I do. The rear is lowered with 2" dropped adjustable spring plates. I also have air shocks on there that lift it 2.5" so that I do not have to worry about dragging my sump. _________________ Ethan Dunlap

I'd have to say perfect stance on that car. |

I think mine are 145/65, but I don't have drops or a narrowed beam.

Your car turned out amazing. Congratulations on your best of show win. I think you stepped up the bar. I have been following your build online. I like how your did some things I have not seen on any other cars. _________________ September 1964 Standard Sunroof walk through SWR/BG original paint. |

I saw your car in person yesterday at the VW Treffen show in Anaheim, CA. It is even better in person. My buddy and I spent about five minutes looking at all the detail and drooling. Great job. _________________ September 1964 Standard Sunroof walk through SWR/BG original paint. |

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Man that was a long trip from Houston to California, It was worth every minute though. I do not think I have ever seen so many amazing early cars in one spot. I know my car was way out of place in that particular venue, but it fell in the cut off year and my buddy and I had already planned to take his Hebmuller and his trailer happens to hold two cars so I figured why waste the space. _________________ Ethan Dunlap

Well as 2017 draws to an end I figured I would update my build thread. This build has been a wild ride it has had its share of ups and downs. I have met a lot of new VW enthusiast. It has been an awesome time hearing and seeing the reaction to my car. It has always been a dream of mine to build my interpretation of the ultimate VW and in my opinion I have nailed it with this build. It has won 4 Best of Show trophy's in three different states. Dean shot the car for Hot VW's and it was even on TV . What more could I actually want from a car that was built in its entirely by me with the help of my club members.
Now it is time to have some fun with the car. I did not build this to just sit in the garage like a model car. Moving forward I will start by working the little bugs out of the system. You know how it goes with a new build little wiring gremlins ( mostly ground issues) and things like getting the suspension properly dialed in. I also plan on spending a lot of time getting the ol girl tuned up properly. I am hoping to have a dyno day with some of our club members here in the near future.
Anyway here is a ton of pictures from the last few shows. Enjoy as always picture overload...
These Pictures are from the set up at the Houston AutoRama this weekend
These photos are from when Dean shot the underside of the car for Hot VW's
These pictures where taken in Arkansas when Dean shot the outside and interior
Random show pictures

Sorry for the late reply. Yep I sure did, a split that I wanted came up for sale so unfortunately the Mistress had to be sacrificed. It's sale was the only possible way for me to afford it. _________________ Ethan Dunlap
