The EV is kind of hiding behind some other toys we were using during this trip.

We are camped right on the Continental Divide / border of Idaho and Montana.

Did some dirt bike riding and then did the Hiawatha Bicycle Trail on bikes rented at Lookout Pass Ski Area. Was a great extended weekend! Temperatures were very hot but we still ended up running into a snow blockage on one of the trails not far from camp.

The kid and I went out in seek of rare snow in Sonoma County yesterday morning.

Good fun getting out there, and only about an hour from home.

Thanks, she's pretty clean overall, and friends have a hard time believing that there are 174k miles on the clock. The most notable blemish is on the driver side:

It was there when I bought it, not worth me spending the money to fix it.

We got to camp out this past weekend. Off and on rain showers, but it was definitely fun to get out.

Could not find a "spotters" thread like the Vanagon forum has, so I'll just say that this one looks like it's being prepared for an adventure, like packing and loading and washing, only more in-depth. Glad to see it's not only Vanagons that need such attention.

Our 2018 adventure: Adirondack Mountains, across Lake Champlain aboard the ferry on our way to Acadia National Park, then down to October Mountain State Park and Tanglewood Music Center.

Passed a few EVs on the way. In particular, a techno blue van who's driver very enthusiastically waved a "thumbs up" sign. Would love to know if that was a fellow Samba geek. We may have to come up with a "handy" sign of our own after seeing that!

Just a small collection of many many pics. If you look closely, you can play "Where's Waldo" in the pic of one-of-six Tanglewood parking lots... made easier since we were the only ones to bring our Kayaks to the James Taylor concert!

You drove by my neck of the woods - sorry about the heat. Very unusual to have over 90F for multiple days here.

Finally made it to our closest NP that I've been neglecting to go to. Mt Rainier.

Nice, I have nearly the same vantage shot with my own white turbodiesel. Don't mind Mr Photobomber

Cool, and with the turbo diesel even. I finally got my radiator fans to kick on climbing the mountain. So I at least know they still work. Looks like you vantage point is a little more east than mine. I was on the view point loop between Nahunta Falls and Paradise. Luckily cleared up on the day we were leaving.

How was the TDI power pulling up those grades?

Just fine. I don't know what the grades are, but there are lots of turns so I wasn't getting up over 35 much if that, so was in 3rd gear nearly all of the time. The Eastern side of the mountain has some straighter roads, but still used 3rd. I could maintain 4th at the lower speed, but it seemed like 3rd was of better use at the speed we were moving. I think 2500 rpm at 35? I have a poorly located EGT which is measuring off of cylinder 4 only and it got up to 409F reaching 5000ft.

Narada Falls which is the next waterfall up the road towards Paradise and the location I took my picture.

Seen today during an outing. When I'm driving I can yell, "Photo op!" and pull over for a pic but the bride was driving and she don't play that game. Looks like it might be a Syncro (or a diesel) but I can't read the plate on the back and don't know if the T4 Syncro was ever labeled EuroVan. Were the Canadian T4 vans called EuroVans or were they Transporters?
