Driving conditions have been good this summer. Haven't seen any rain for more than 4 weeks so my '58 has had a good few outings. Today a 30 mile rural ramble down the narrow by-ways of Southern Hampshire.

My usual trick of driving past the signs that say "No Cars Beyond This Point" which is usually the best vantage point for a picture.
Lymington Town Quay, Hampshire.

Beautiful pictures John as always, how old is that church and cemetery, if you know?

I don't see how there could be a problem with that... after all it's not a car.... it's a Ghia! You therefore are compliant.

That's St Mary's Church, Crawley, Hampshire. Like many English Church they have undergone many changes over the millennia. This one has foundations that date back to the 12th century with alterations in the 15th and finally in 1887 and 1901. The Graveyards you'll find usually have headstones that date back to the 18th century...rare to find readable older ones because of the British weather.

Ah that must be why I've never been challenged. Smile Another trick is to wear a yellow high-visibility tabard. As you buzz around taking pictures people think you must be on official business. Wink

This is great! Thanks! I've been fighting to keep the local livestock from using my property as a shortcut from the "wrong-side-of -the tracks" to the "undocumented pharmacist". You would be surprised what they're willing to climb over & through to avoid walking the extra 1/2 block. This includes everything from cut down limbs & trees stacked & woven 5'-6' high to 5' high stacks of corded tires.

Haha...as I said a few months back... "Ask yourself...where else but The Samba could you learn all you need to know about Karmann Ghias AND how to lay a hedge or Dry Stone Wall." Wink

A perfect early Autumn afternoon to drive the country lanes of Hampshire. This was one of the wider roads. Wink

Tomorrow "Wyatt Earp" and myself will be venturing out for more pictures. Smile

Your Ghia is so shiny & perfect that it always looks photoshopped into the surrounding image Very Happy

FWIW, after watching the hedgewall video that you posted, I dropped a Pecan tree that was beginning to make contact with some power lines to make my own wall & it seems to be holding on.

It is shiny but it's by no means perfect. Of course it helps that it's a fair-weather Ghia so if the sun shines it's out there having its picture taken...good lighting = shiny car. Smile

Good work with the hedge laying. Smile It should keep growing so will get thicker as time goes by.

Another picture from this afternoon. The close viewpoint gives the Ghia a nose heavy shape...still looks good though.

You've posted many, many beautiful photos of your lovely low nose Karmann Ghia here over the years, but ^^^ that ^^^ one is definitely one of my favorites thus far.
You truly hit it squarely on the nose this time.

As always, thanks for sharing.

Unseasonably warm, dry and bright...so we go for a drive...

I scrambled up the steep bank to get this high viewpoint...the descent was a little bit undignified for a man of my advanced years...slid down on my arse. Embarassed

How about a "virtual drive" in your Ghia? Put a dash cam in and record one of your drives through that gorgeous scenery, for those of us not blessed to live in a fairy tale landscape? Smile

I have 2 stills cameras with HD video capability but none of the handy action camera mounts. Not sure if I want to spend money on an action cam I'd rarely use.

My request was course somewhat tongue-in-cheek, John. Your gorgeous pictures are enough for me. Very Happy

It was never an outrageous request as I did go through a few online reviews of the "budget" action cameras a little while ago but stopped when I found myself looking at drone cameras too. I have an old school friend who produces fantastic drone videos but he's too far away "up country" to be of practical use.

Reading reviews seems harmless but could be the start of a slippery slope. Wink

You could always just do your "virtual drive" around London, and then ask the police to share their CCTV footage with you so you can apply your HDR and Sepia magic . Wink

Yep just don't pay the "Inner London Congestion Charge" and I'm sure to get a few stills and if I ask nicely a video to back up their hefty fine. Embarassed
