Packed and headed Telluride for the Ride Festival! My wife’s application got accepted and we'll be vending at the event. It is a bus themed festival and we’ll be camping in the festival in the bus, holla!

Sitting fat!!!

We made it to Telluride without any issues, even though the bus is super heavy. We pulled out of Rico and started to make the climb up Lizard Head Pass. We cought up to a family in a 3500 Dodge Cumin’s towing a 22” bumper pull camper. A long straight away comes up with a passing zone, no one was coming so I passed him. No harm, no foul. Then, like 10 turns later the guy pulls out on a double yellow on a blind corner and proceeds to pass me. I slowed up and let him by, what an asshole!

Nice! I bought my bus in Telluride in '94. Saw it at the base of lift 8 every morning and asked about it in the spring when I bought it for $200 with a blown engine. Still a happy owner of that bus 24 years later.

Thanks for sharing your pictures - brings back great memories of my ski bum year for the '93-'94 season. I do have a bunch of great photos of my bus in Telluride, but they are old, so will have to scan in the photos and post someday.

Definitely enjoy seeing your posts and bus photos in the mountain areas. Keep it up!

Yesterday I took it to JAD Machine, John and I went for a nice ride and he made some minor carburetor adjustments. Today I adjusted the brakes and lubed all the doors. Just need to wash it and I’ll be all ready for the SW Colorado Off Road Adventure next weekend!

Rythnms buy the Rio was a huge success and a great time! The location was epic, the music was epic and camping with 52 other buses at bus camp was EPIC!!!

Big thanks to Scott and everyone who helped put this amazing festival together! Next year I will not only be there but I’ll do my best to volunteer and help out where I can.

Totally, the rusty metal primer is no match for the alpine sun.

Made it to the festival with no issues. Even though the bus was loaded, it still had plenty of power. Cruised 60-65 the whole way with a few blips up to 70. Even with running it hard and it being 89* out, the engine still ran nice and cool. I unpacked the bus, set up the vending tent and set up our camp including the side tent, which is always a chore. I’m gonna put a ARB awning with walls on my ‘71 and be done with this side tent business. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice once it’s set up, but it’s time consuming, heavy and takes up a lot of space.

The temps as I pulled into Pagosa at 430 this afternoon.
