Yesterday I got curious about the engine we built. So I found a local chassis dyno and went to check it out.
This was my first time on the dyno and it was a learning experience. I ran the car in third gear for what we hoped would be the best 1:1 gearing. You start the car in third and try not to bog it down and kill it. Get the rpms to 2000 and signal the dyno tech and punch it. Race it all the way to 5000 rpm and wave off the dyno tech. It gets your heart pumping. After a couple of false starts and a very patient dyno tech we got 66.26 hp.
We are running the Wolfsburg West Okrasa kit.

Ported and polished heads port matched.
Porsche 1500 s breather
Speedwell sump
Speedwell exhaust
010 distributor
912 cylinder bored to 83 with Arias pistons
Fram bypass oil filter
OT pulley
Porsche oil cooler
Pre A Porsche articulating lifters/Pushrods
Speedwell Sebring exhaust
Lighten flywheel 14lbs
Porsche b rods
Denzel style modified valve covers
I've been researching the calculations of engine dynos versus chassis dynos. I've read you can expect a 15-20% difference. So we are at or close to 80hp.
Thanks to Ray for all his help.
I welcome your comments and suggestions.
