Hi everyone. I have 68 KG going to restore. But I would try to convert the door panel to early look. So I need to change the window crank and handle. Anyone know how can do that or need change all the lock parts and window track? Thanks

its going to be a difficult task. later doors operated by pulling a tab, earlier doors a rotating handle. Its easy to use earlier window winder and early pattern on door panel...the rest wont be easy. Door differences.....

Darrell do you know if I can you just replace the arm rest that’s on the door panel to the earlier one that’s all I’m looking to do.

I did, window winders too. Cool

IIRC, the holes are spaced different and there will be a pattern left on door card from the different pull. I was able to make it work. I'll try to get pics. It will depend on which handle/pulls you use, there were at least 3 different sizes plus Beetle.

Sorry only pic I could find. See lower right.

I'll just wait for a question from someone needing assistance on adjusting their ragtop near a lake. Wink

To avoid a complete hijack.
To OP, do you have door cards, door pulls and window winders? The style door cards you choose will have a major impact on the final look. Look thru the interior pics in the stickies. Back on track.
