Looks like a good project, I love the picture of the pans with the foot prints in the dirt. _________________ Looking for anything from Hal Casey Motors out of Hamburg New York, from license plate surrounds to matchbooks.

From the 1971 VWOA accessory catalog:
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/71access/page13.jpg
It's a precision cut kit- and does not wrap over the perimeter of the ashtray- thus it does not easily peel. That's why this one does not look the part to me.
I'm on the hunt for a GOOD kit for my '71- yet all I find are NOS kits with heavily warped or torn from swap wear panels. Folks think they're a $40 item now- because of the box.
The knob is a super-common item. But still neat. Easily made nice again with a beer in front of a good movie on tv. _________________

Pans cut out. On the side made it pretty easy to follow the lip.

test fitting of the Wolfsburg west pans. Air chisel highly recommend to get the remaining pan out after you cut it with a sawzall. I feel like I'm heading down the slippery slope of a full restoration , which was not my original intention . |

That is the path you are on. Be careful, it gets really expensive, really quick.
But it also is so much fun converting a car in such disrepair, back to a like new state!
Keep going! Loving it! _________________ Jimbo

Here's another, very popular source for the wood dash vinyl kit- shown at lower left. Per the description by glutamodo, this is from the '69 JC Whitney catalog but I'm sure it was offered for several years later.

If you mean the flywheel Bolt is stuck, it probably isn’t. You’ll need a torque meister to remove it and reinstall it.

Got the pans tacked in. Had to drill a little under 3/8 holes in the pan to get my 110 machine to weld to the chassis correctly . If the holes were 1/4 they wouldn't stick. Also very important to clean the burr off the backside with a grinder so the pan sits flat. Also the Wolfsburg west pans fit great and are worth every penny. |
