Been there twice. I always go down to the brewery Coors and drink the free beer. They do it right and let you skip the tour head straight for the beer you can see the brewery in the pic. |

Bought my first VW this spring in the SF Bay Area and drove it back 3,000 miles to my home in Birmingham, AL.
First stop was the Golden Gate Bridge
Was my first time in CA so I checked Yosemite off of the bucket list
Took Tioga Pass through the park on the first day it was open in the spring. I had to stop and use my reserve gas and didn't know if I was going to make it to Lee Vining. Thankfully I did, and gas was around $5/gallon
So from experiencing snow flurries over Tioga Pass, the next day was 100+ temps in Death Valley
Wife met me in LV and drove with me through Colorado. This is somewhere in the Nevada desert.
Somewhere in Arches NP.

In August 2018 I visited a colleague from work who has 2 late-model Mexican Beetles; lives near Pawling NY near the CT border. I drove a few miles further to Bull's Bridge, an old covered bridge over the Housatonic River. This is just east of the NY/CT border at US Rt 7. My mild-custom '77 Beetle was running well.

June, 2017. My mildly customized '77 Beetle at the Red Apple Rest, Tuxedo, NY along NY Rt 17. Built in 1931 as a cafeteria-style restaurant to handle traffic heading to the Catskills. Closed in 2006. NY Thruway I-87 is only a few hundred yards to the east.

Drove in to New Haven yesterday afternoon (Sunday, 6/9/2019) to mail some stuff at the main post office that’s located right near the big New Haven (CT) IKEA store (IKEA’s campus incorporates the historic old Armstrong Rubber building, that is considered an architectural treasure of New Haven—although it does not appear that IKEA is actually doing anything with it—other than hanging big “sale” banners on it that are visible from the highway--even though they’ve had to have been there now at least 10 or 15 years).
Top got put up yesterday, because I'm Creeky commuting this week, while my Subaru is in the shop for some elective maintenance & repairs--and it's going to rain this week, so, 'nuff said (fresh Rain-X too, of course!)...
MORE INFO: Article from just last year—interesting: https://www.dezeen.com/2018/04/26/brutalist-marcel...otel-ikea/ ... And from some further google checking, it appears IKEA New Haven first opened its doors in 2004. _________________ Stock Steve
