Hi all,
I'm concerned that a respray would be more than the backend of the car |
I don't understand what you are asking? I will assume you are concerned about the cost of whole respray versus a partial respray? Obviously a partial respray will be cheaper but the result can only look partially resprayed. If that doesn't bother you, save the bucks and be done with it.
If you do a full respray, then you might as well prepare the full car surface and make sure there is no rust building up in "all the usual places". It would be a shame to make such an effort to have rust bubbles bloom up in a few months. There's not many sights worse than rust bubbles under fresh paint.

Can't spell Berg or Kaddy shack so he is obviously not the builder. IF you spend Berg money, you know how to spell their name......
Just my 3 cents

Depends on your final level of enjoyment with the car, looks to have hidden rust, side trim filled, don't see body seems in rockers or rear pan. The cost/time for rust repair you'll never get back. However, if you want a daily, it might be worth a look. _________________ 1972 Karmann Ghia |

That was no doubt much more true BITD when people paid by writing out a check.
(For those youngsters that aren't familiar with the term "check", it was an antiquated form of payment similar to a debit card only it was made of paper, you actually gave it to the seller and they didn't give it back, and you had to manually write in the name of the seller, the date, the amount and your signature. Yeah, that's right - "write" all of that ... each time you made a purchase ... by hand with a pen (think stylus, only filled with ink)! ) |

You have now crossed into the "before" time.
There not gone yet. There is an old and popular BBQ restaurant in Charlotte, NC that still only accepts cash or checks and if you don't have either with you, or not enough to cover the bill, they will let you mail them a check when you get home _________________

There's still lots of restaurants in rural area that only accept cash. The credit card processing fees really take a chunk out of the bottom line on small businesses with relatively small purchase prices. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Also non-American English uses "cheque" as the correct spelling for this archaic form of payment. Avoids confusion with a check that you might receive in a restaurant. _________________ Ghia Owner Emeritus |
