Looks like they have. 
From the article:

Since its unveiling at OBC 2017, the bike has almost a 1000 miles on it. Doug likes to get out and ride his bikes.

Do you think they did (10) 100 mile rides or (1000) 1 mile rides?
I have 21,000 miles since February 2015.
It's "cute" but not practical as a bicycle. So put a roof rack on you car and drive around with it on the top.

| It is cute, for five grand I would buy another bug which would leave some spare change for lunch and wave at the bicyclists as I putt-putt by. |

For that price you can buy this and keep $1500 in your pocket: Trek Emonda SL6, full carbon and Ultegra 11 speed.

| Yea but I do not ride a bike, so it is either another bug to keep the one i have now from being lonely or cash in the pocket to buy parts to keep the one I have now happy, either way I will still get a lunch out of the deal. |
