Ok, today i focused on creating what I need to do the arch!

I started out by goin up to my buddies shop in the foothills, this first pic is us making a 1/2 inch radius tool to put in the metal break so the lip has the same radius and profile as the OG arch. I was stoked when his phone rangf and he passed me the Tig torch, I havnt got to play with one for quite some time!

notice the radius on the break.. also how the bend is not at 90 degrees its more like 70 degrees. The radius tool makes for a very clean break unlike my first test piece hammered over by hand on a make shift hammer form!

In this next photo, on the top is the first try test piece , in the middle is the OG and the bottom piece is the one we made today! (witch is only a test piece as well)

The jaws on the stretcher make the part look wavy in the photo, but its not.. seems to be working very well, my next move is to continue to press forward with this idea, but at the same time, considering what it would take to build a hammer form in the shape that i need and produce them that way!

Has this Ghia been completed? I used to own it, sold it to Juan. I have tried to get a hold of him, no response. Would love to see it.

Your timing for this post was very lucky. Lol. Juan has taken a break from the build for quite sometime now. Just this week we have put the Ghia back on my calendar of build rotations.

You should expect to see updates very soon.
