How do you separate the turn signal switch from the wiper switch? They come out together as one unit after unscrewing 4 screws and lifting it out. I don't want to break anything prying them apart.
Thanks |

Very very carefully
I think i remember when I did mine that they kind of "snapped" apart. Look around the edges and see if there are 2-3 tabs that hold the plastic parts together if we are talking about the same thing.

IIROC, they are usually sold as a pair. If you're having an issue with one or the other, you might want to replace the whole unit. Usually available in the classified section, Thing and Beetle. Also TTS has them new. _________________ Thanx, DLT

yes they just have lock tabs holding them together and no you don't have to replace both at the same time
They do come out of the housing together then seperate

Thanks for the advise.
I was able to separate them and clean them and the contacts, and the turn signal cancelling mechanism.
The two white wire looms have three male/female interlocking tabs that need to be separated.
After that the two switches can be gently separated. There are male studs on one switch that connect the two so using a screwdriver and gently prying up separated them for me. |
