How did the JK sliders go in. Sure wish there was a bug screen option. |
I like them. It fit in well enough. I dont mind it not having a screen. If I need one Ill make it. I just love the open window. Ronin - Andrew came over and decided on the Bus Depot one? After seeing mine. Cant remember why. Maybe the clasp?
Anybody got a jailbar end for the back? Im missing one.

Actually, after much back and forth between yours and Mitch's (Zelten) windows from Motion Windows, I decided no the Motion Windows. The glass was much thicker and no uber-tight corner to deal with. _________________ Andrew

I agree. Probably the only way I'd ever sell my Westy would be to get into a 78/79 pastel white with blue plaid OG. This one is turning out super sweet. _________________ -----

Thanks guys. The color combo and some of the other often not seen things like the AT and the hard top definitely drew me to this bus from the beginning. It goes against the other combos like an orange bus with orange interior, green with green and even brown on brown. I think its lends itself to breaking it all up more. Yet keeping that 70's vibe.

I had the windshield put in today - wasn't much more than the cost of the new glass. Good old school OG guy put it in too. Used boiled linseed oil to lube it up. Brushed it on too not all messy. Said thats how the Krauts did it.

Big doings as some already know. Ive been a San Diego native again for about 4 months. Had to move, relocate my shit and build a landing pad for the VW's.
The 74 was towed down by myself and cousin from Seattle to San Diego with all the other garage and home goods. Uneventful trip with lots of lookers asking questions everytime we stopped.
Since then the new backyard was done and incorporated a side work/storage space just for projects like this. The idea is to build a more permanent space but for now, it just gets the harbor freight tent.
Stuart has been down here working the area and has played a bit on getting the electrics up. I've since gone in behind him and done some more.
The free days have been taken up recently with family and or 77 bus driving or fiddlen. But my eye is still on the prize to get this running soon. No big things done.....so I hope to change that.
