Front brakes assembled and ready to go on. The dropspindles interfear with the wheel cylinder mounting area so the spindle will have to be clearenced. Gas tank was treated with pot 15. I have used this for several gas tanks and would recommend it to any one restoring their original tank.

Cracked open the splitcase transmission I have. Looks like I will be needing a 1/2 slider, main shaft and a reverse gear. The case cleaned up well with bead blasting and all the hardware got zinc coated/painted. Im trying to decide if I want to coat the case with anything or leave it as is. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Rebuilt the fuel reserve tap. Started working on body panels. Fixed the 4 tab hood where they always crack. Also replacing the bullet turn signal bases because they were rusting between the metal layers.

Great work OP.
The pan looks great.

I'm picking up a '56 soon and I'm sure it'll need plenty of work too.

When lowering the rear 2 or more notches the rear wheels will have too much toe in and will wear out the tires faster. So to fix this the springplates have to be extended.

How did you install your pedal assembly with the different bolt pattern on the new floor pan? I am having the same situation.

The bracket lined up with the nut that was on the new pan. I think I got lucky. If it didn’t line up I would cut it off, flatten the area, weld 2 nuts on a rectangular plat and weld it to the pan.
