Station wagon was what VW called the microbus in NA to circumvent the tax on commercial vehicles, it can say many things on the title depending on how the clerk at the DMV felt that day. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I'm looking to buy a 1971 vw bay window bus
Vin number I was given starts 221 213
The research that I have done is leading me to believe this vin doesn't match the bus depicted
I saw one post that showed the first 3 letters of 221 is for a 9 passenger microbus split window
This bus is a bay window
The entire vin is ten digits.
Can this be legit? Thanks |
Well?!? Did you buy it?!? _________________ -Kent-

That sounds like a good move on your part.
If the seller isn't willing to let you check it out completely, walk away.
You may have dodged a bullet there.
