Thank you all for the help. Wow... After removing the CV, realized it was actually installed jacked up and at too steep of an angle. This stretched the bearing cartridge beyond what the cage would allow and locked it up at the point where it needed to bend. The reassembly took a couple hours repacked with grease and reinstall (car not jacked) went really smooth. Needless to say the second side went in less than an hour including replacing the shock. The car now sits 3 inches higher and drives awesome. Moral of the story: really understand the directions before jumping in. Can't thank you all enough...

Pictures of your rig would be nice. Jacked too high the life of your CV joints may be very short.

Sorry, What I meant was, I used a car jack and elevated the car for the installation of the new CV axle. When I did that it spread the distance and created a steep angle which forced the bearing cartridge into an unnatural position. When I tightened the screws and locked it up in that same position. When the wheel turned it stoped at a certain point because it couldn't bend. The only way to recover was to remove it, rebuild the cartridge with the bearings in the right position and reinstall (without the car jack).

It was a newbie move. Should have had it off the car jack to begin with and understand now why it was recommended to use ramps or a curb instead.
