I have a horrible feeling that I have done this in the wrong order. I have fitted the lift channels to the new glass and then siliconed them to get a nice fit and help stop water rotting the lifters over time. I searched the Forums and YouTube but found nothing actually showing glass being fitted.

I was really happy with result but now when I'm trying to lower the glass with the lifter already fitted into position the lifter does not fit through the channel in the door. I got the old lifter ou that I still had to just check and I cannot see a way to get it in place with the glass attached.

Are you meant to first lower just the glass through the channel and then bolt up to the lifter channel?

Don't know.......

But, if you siliconed the metal to the glass, the metal is glued to the glass, will it fit if you remove the hardware?

Think

With the windows trims and rubber removed it should easily fit through the gap attached to the glass. At least it was so on my car.....and since we both used the same panel shop Confused I doubt the gap in your door is wrong.

Yes.

The glass needs to be loosely fitted in the channel at first anyway so that you can adjust its position, so there is no reason to try and fit it in the channel before lowering it into the door cavity.

The glass should be sandwiched in the lift channel with a rubber seal, not silicone into place. The door needs to be bare (no rubber or chrome top in place). I dont really recall the order but looking at your issue...drop glass into window opening, let it rest into the lift channel. Leave bolts loose. Check up and down movement adjust fore or aft and tighten lift channel bolts. There are several other (in/out) adjustments available on the guide rail.

Does anyone know the size of those bolts for the Lift channel?? M4's? 1/2' or 1"?
Thanks.

I had already fitted the anti rattle rubber grommets so I'll try removing some to see if that works which it must do.
Thanks
