Driver Side Mirror -Need Help

First post. I've been mining threads for a couple months as I rehab a 63. East coast car so it's just a survivor.
My question is what's am I missing here to install this mirror? I think it might be a brass coupling or adapter. Much thanks!

So the piece on the top left is threaded to attach to the top of the hinge pin? And the brass piece goes inside up to the nut on top?
Seems simple enough. Counting my blessings to not have to get the pin out.

I didn't open the box when the mirror arrived. I found the part. But not before I went a little wacky wondering what was missing. Thanks.
