So I have decided this is not the car for me to learn on. The car is with a professional that will use mostly replacement metal that I have sourced. Theis guys work is incredable. So good you cant even tell that there has been any welding done. I'm going all out on this 100% stock restoration.

Sounds exciting... can't wait to see it!

I think I have given up on my 40 year dream of ever owning a 1969 FI automatic Notch. Crying or Very sad

Beeing its curent care taker I just want to do right by the car and make sure it last for its next caretaker. I was lucky to find this notchback. At the time I had a 63 and a 64 that I had to put up for sale to aquire this 69. Glad I did because you dont see many 69 notchbacks that have remained stock and unmolested. I think I will be on slow motion on this build as it is with the metal fabrication guy at the moment and no telling when I might get it back. For now I'm concentrating on making everything I took off the car look like new and make sure it's all ready for the bodys return from rust repair.

Patiently waiting on my pan to come back from media so I can send it off to powder. Only had to replace one half. Oops I will add picks and be back.

Coming along nicely Leo. Cool Make sure ALL of your pan welding is done before sending it out for powder coat. Wink

What's up Bob? Trust you and Sue are doing well. thanks for the tip, the pan will be fully welded and all repairs made before it goes to powder. this has becoming quite the restoration. unfortunately for me it wont begin till I get the car back from metal fab and paint. I have been lining up parts as well as cleaning up motor, trans, and suspension. this should be a clean driver for the wife to take to shows and put around on the weekends.

Thanks for following the build Bob. make sure you give our regards to Sue.

Leo and Ellen

No one is as quick as Pedro, but my 69 sunroof notch is still moving FWD. Pan has come back from powder and body is undergoing rust repair.

Thanks Bob! It's a slow process and I'm not much on patients but for the quality of work it is recieving I will wait.

It's a good thing I picked up this fastback to keep me intertained.

What up Steve. You say the word and we can trade any day. I have lusted for you fast back for years now. Laughing

I haven't started a build thread on the fastback because I'm only allowed to work on one car at a time. I'm afraid if I do to much the wife will catch on Very Happy . for now I have a fresh 1914 going in it with dual DCNF that are currently in route to California. They will be worked over by Gary Berg. this should get the fastback moving. I'm getting tired of pushing it around the shop! Then I will start on the breaks. New soft lines and rebuilt master. the drums, shoes, pads, and calipers as well as bearings all look new. Planning on having the fastback ready for the summer. all this without the wife finding out. When she ask what I'm up to out in the shed I tell her I'm just cleaning parts for her notchbacks return. Laughing
