I wonder how good those NOS "O" rings are that actually hold the ski's in place are.
I could just see a ski flying off the rack and someone getting hurt. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

As long as your spending money on things you'll never use, why don't you buy me some parts for my bus? I have lots of things I'm more than willing to have you pay for. _________________ Andrew

They are surprisingly good. Very supple and pliable. _________________

Yesterday and today worked on the small stuff to get the notch started. This alongside a new buggy my cousin bought and wanted to get going.
So I helped pull the buggy motor, showed the monkey how to tear it down then played on the notch.
Um it now runs Needs some tweaks but is alive.

Planning on my move back to San Diego at months end. I needed this running and driving so that a car hauler could come to get it easily. Finally got it to that point.
Sucker wouldn't idle. I had it statically timed and kept increasing the idle screws but she wouldn't do it. So I had intended to put electromagnetic cutoffs in place of the "stock" static/analog type in there so I went ahead with it.
Right off after hooking those up with power she idles smoothly and very high. Backed down the idle and she purred like a kitten. Steady, quite and smooth
I was shocked. I guess the other idle jets were bad?
Im sure she is idling a bit high, Im sure Ill have to tweak the timing, Im sure Ill have to readjust all of it a bit, including the valves.
But its runs well enough and I need to leave these things so Jack, Lee and Pedro can show me by doing how this is all done
Cant wait to enjoy this car with my friends and family. Put all the fun little things on it and drive her.
See you in San Diego!

Where in SD are you moving back to Jason? My gal and I just spent the weekend in Del Mar to get out of the PHX heat. Miss the area but too damn expensive these days. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

My hometown! You can "cruise grand" now that they don't allow cruising Valley Parkway like back in the 70's and 80's. I just had an Agrusa's sandwich last Friday too. Love those sandwiches.
Good luck with your move. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Uh oh
Hit the lotto again. I had seen a T3 Westfalia tow hitch for sale before I bought the notch. Never ever thought Id have the opportunity to own one, let alone for the same year as the car
Honestly not a big fan of having a trailer on such a small car, but dang it looks good on it and can carry lots of stuff to shows in classic, correct, European style

Yeah those bolts are garbage and will be replaced. I think they held the blade to the bar. Im going to need longer bolts to hold the bar to the car as well. I think the inner fender support needs to be nutted and create a sandwich. Good thing the tail lights pop off easily _________________

I was wondering if it gets mounted similar to the VWoA dealer hitches (1st pic). But, I don't see any smaller screws that would go thru the plates and into the body.
Are you going with stainless bumper bolts (carriage bolts) , or are you going to find some NOS chrome bumper bolts to attach it?
Your car should look good with 1 of those Westy trailers hitched up behind it. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
