If you're in the Bay Area, it might make sense to check on these rims. A W123 MB has an offset of ET30 stock, so if these rims fit, they might be a nearly direct swap onto a Vanagon.

Hey all, I have a 86 Syncro Doka. I have some snow wheels mounted with tires that I'm wondering if they will fit?

Wheel size is 17' 5x100 lug, not sure of offset

Meaty snow tires are 235/65/17.

Will I be able to wrangle these onto my rig? I don't want to drag them down there is there isnt a chance they fit, ha.

Bolt pattern is 5x112. Unless there is something I don't know. There are adapters but then that can cause other fitment issues and just not worth it for wheels.

Ask Chris at T3 about these wheels. He's helped numerous people here on thesamba fit different wheels to their vans.

So I've been looking at something like this for a while:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

MIM wheel, 5x112, 7x16, et 35, (centerbore unknown)

Info, please: a) load capacity? ...b) fitment/spacers? ...c) hardware/center caps? ...d) ballpark cost for all these extra bits?
This is first time I've ever looked into wheels seriously, so sorry if I seem clueless/needy... TIA! Cool

Size wise, if you run a 215 or narrower tire, the wheels should fit without spacers. However, adding spacers to the rear will help improve the appearance a lot.

As for mounting hardware, it's impossible to know for sure. You would need the wheels in had to determine how thick the wheels are through the lug hole area and if they require conical or ball seat lugs.

One concern about those wheels is the diameter of the center bore, especially at the center cap area. The center caps look pretty small so even if the listed center bore diameter was on the large side, the opening where the cap clips in may be too small to allow the front grease caps to pass through. This is all something that you would need to have the wheels in hand to measure and determine.

No idea on their listed load capacity.

I run those Audi rims on our EV for winter tires. That van is a chunky monkey, so I wouldn't worry about their load capacity. They look great on vans

Cool...thanks Chris.

Casey...Since you have them "in hand", any insights re: hardware & centerbore for Vanagon?

If boring is needed, I assume I just get them to my local machine shop along with what, ~$50, $100 bill...???

Just trying to get a feel for all the costs up front...Thanks guys!

I'll say it's an audi 16" with a 45 et

But that's just me guessing at it.

Those are either the Carrot wheel (which is a cheap off-shore replica of the factory Mercedes wheels of the same design) or the actual factory Mercedes wheels.

Are these heritage wheels a direct fit on a Vanagon ?

Would these be okay for a 2wd westy?

off of a 1992 300CE. 16 inches x 7.5. 65jx15h2

Would they be up to the weight?

Hopefully you realize those are 15" wheels, 6.5" wide, like is says on them.

As Mark pointed out, those wheels are 6 1/2" x 15"!!

And yes, they'll be fine on your van - I have them on my tin top.

Those look better on vans than they do on MBs. From what I recall the factory 124 rims used a lot of offset, so you'll probably need spacers plus the lug bolts/nuts/studs

There are a lot of different fitments with these wheels from the factory. Mine are close enough in ET that no spacers are needed with 205/60R15 tires.

ET is around 22 or 3 IIRC
