In "Twin Peaks: The Return" episode 6, Carl gets a ride into town in a bay window Bus. Relatively lengthy scene as there is a conversation between Carl and his friend as they go into town.

In episode 10, Carl gets Shelly a ride into town in what's meant to be the same Bus, but when he calls, a splittie shows up:

Subsequent interior shots on the ride into town with Carl and Shelly show the same bay window Bus interior from episode 6.

Remember "White Line Fever" from 1975 with Jan-Michael Vincent? It was on TCM a couple of weeks ago. About half way through the movie, there is a white bus parked on the side of the road, in an industrial park setting, somewhere in Tuscon, AZ.

I follow a handful of surfing and skateboarding accounts/brands on Instagram and - damn - those guys can't NOT put a bay-window in just about every pic they post. It's insane. Like daily. I've come really close to starting my own IG account, just to document the exploitation of VW buses in promotion if the "summer vibes" lifestyle in brands. It's ridiculous.

Then, a couple days ago, my wife's catalogue arrives from some outdoor clothing brand (I forget which). Another Bay Window, right on the cover.

It's funny, because a lot of the skateboard bloggers/whatever love to bitch about how fashion and a lot of other industries "lifestyle grab" by putting a skateboard in their model's hands to make them look "cool." And yet they can't stop themselves from "bus grabbing" like there's no tomorrow.

I noticed that as well when it first aired. Looks like a continuity error when you watch it, but I doubt it is. I think it was done deliberately by David Lynch playing with us, as his attention to detail is well known.

I recall reading an article years ago where he described fabricating a roof rack for a split screen bus he owned, I think around the time he was filming Eraserhead, so he knows his VWs.

RIP Harry Dean Stanton, greatly missed.
