|
|
So I am looking to get new clutch kit for my 1978 bus. I see two kits made by Luk. One is KF 25101 and the other is 17-010. As far as I can tell according to sites selling them, both will work on my bus. Does anyone know which is better? thanks. |

I could have this all wrong, because times change,
But..
The first one you listed is by LUK, costs more, and is the high-quality/heavy-duty clutch.
These have been gone for a long time last I heard.
If you can find one, get it.
The second one you show is a Sachs.
Cheaper, weaker, and all that is available now.
Unless things have changed,
Which is entirely possible.
The two companies probably merged, and now put their label on stuff from China. _________________ Bus Motor Build

Luk is part of Schaeffler Group USA
Sachs is owned by ZF Friedrichshafen AG (Germany)
As to where they are made that is a crap shoot, the Sachs clutch disk I got two months ago was made in Germany, the next one might be from one of a couple dozen plants those two companies have all over the world.
As a full disclosure I did have to look up how to spell the owners of Sachs, I knew the ZF & AG but the rest was a blur. |

Did some more research and it appears they are both compatible for my 78 bus. One says 228mm and the other 230 mm ... All the websites state the 17-010 is compatible with my 78 and its genuine Luk so I ordered one. Hope it fits. thanks for help |

I just replaced the clutch on my 77 2.0 with Luk LK 17-010 from Rockauto.
Here are all of my dumb questions throughout the process. Might be helpful.
