Just north of the funky, little town of Washington, California.
5500' elevation on gravel/logging roads.

Thanks. As we all know, owning these things can be a real struggle.
The DMV giggled when I picked up the plat.

Also not quite wilderness but here’s a shot at 8:30 am near Washington Pass on Hwy 20 in northern Washington state (elevation 5,500 ft).

Smoke from forest fires is changing the nature of outdoor recreation here in the PNW in August. Air Quality Index here is in the 300s (hazardous: stay indoors, minimize activity, etc.). Oy.

Check out the glowing sun...

Is that on planet earth or is it more proof that spell check is dumb beyond belief? I suspect the latter (I’d love spell check if it was just slightly better than random replacement of unexpected characters).

Last winter, my German newspapers told me the Chandelier Tree collapsed, taking the One Log House with it.
Are these pictures from last summer?

Pics taken today, 21Aug18. But yeah, there were at least two Drive-Thru redwood trees and one of them fell.

I live in a small city outside of Nürnberg.
We have a Burger King here, and you can see where the old symbols were chiseled off. Perfect outline remains, though. d'oh!
I find it silly. And funny.

Not sure if Napa constitutes the wilderness, but there were lots of trees and a babbling brook behind our way-cool campsite at Napa-Bothe SP:
