The colored part is missing on my ghia on both doors. What exactly is it called. And is it avail new?
I'm having difficulty identifying it on the parts manual.
Thanks!

I think it's the metal of the door - inner door skin. _________________ Festina lente - hasten slowly

On my 71 it's a strip spot welded to the door. I doubt you will find a replacement part number for it since it appears to be a part of the door.

Too bad!!
Does anyone have any measurements of that part -- total height and height that protrudes above? I can try to recreate.
Or, I'll have to look for someone cutting up a car. _________________ 1971 1302LS Convertible (RHD) owned since '74

For my 1971 Convertible:
31 & 1/16 inches long,
1 inch tall BUT it has a 1/8" fold over seam towards the outside of the door,
Rises 7/16" above the door
Make sense? _________________ No Dents

Thanks! That does help! That bead formed by the fold-over is probably important to holding down the rubber strip properly. _________________ 1971 1302LS Convertible (RHD) owned since '74

Just a guess on my part but in that diagram, "A" looks like it might be a tool used to adjust the position of the guide plugs. Maybe by wedging it between the glass ("C") and the plug, you can spread the sheetmetal a little and gain a bit more clearance if the windows are tight and difficult to roll up & down. _________________ '63 Ragtop (current)

My issue is the rubber doesn't press against the glass in a couple areas. _________________ My 70 beetle was totaled Now to build the Ghia I always wanted. Rest in peace Ruby, I will miss you. Hello <insert Ghia name here>! |

Have you tried bending the subject piece of metal towards the window.
In looking at mine (disassembled) it looks pretty wavy. I'll straighten it out before assembly in 6 months or so. _________________ No Dents
