hi folks i am building a bandito?dune buggy and i was looking at options for seats.i was thinking about later model leather vw seats but would the weather tear them up?it wont be a daily and it will be garage kept. |

Thing to consider is how high they sit, and how wide they are...
You will have about 19 inches of room between tunnel and body with seats all the way back....
Lots of choices out there, some like Mazda seats, some like fiberglass buckets (yeck) some use smart car seats some have used seats from 4x4 (side by side) off road vehicles.. I personally uses PRP Roadster style seats and sliders mounted directly to floor pan so you could sit low ...
And yes the "weather" will probably not be kind to true leather seats... Cloth seats will be cool in summer heat (they breathe) and warm in winter as the do not attract and hold the cold ...

These are seats from a Polaris Slingshot. Weather proof also, sit low and not too wide
