Hi All,

I bought an EMPI chrome manx style front bumper for my 65 Dune Runner Mini Mercedes link pin front beam. The front beam has a sway bar on it and this seems to directly interfere with where the bumper mounts need to go. To wit, the bumper appears to mount with two bolts on each side through the gap between the beams to a plate that fits behind the beams. The sway bar is such that the bumper mounts sit so high only one fits between, the other is directly in line with the upper beam.

Am I to assume that I can not have the bumper and the sway bar?

I think they are designed to run without a sway bar.

Sway bar is usually removed when these buggies are built. The sway bar is not necessary as the front suspension is usually overly stiff and there is no body roll.

Remove the sway bar and mount the bumper. Keep the sway bar as it comes in handy to beef up the tie rods.

I was able to mount my bumper and keep the sway bar. I remember having to do some adjusting. I’ll take a pic tomorrow.
