Hey guys, i recently picked up this 58 panel. Progress will be made slowly but surely, i just started barber school so i will be trying to balance the two the best i can. It'll get hurst bumpers front and rear, full roof rack, safaris and a camper interior eventually. I figured id start a thread on my progress and future adventures involving the bus. Enjoy!

I did an oil change, set the points, adjusted the valves, checked all my fuel lines, new battery with a new ignition and she fired right up! Driving my own split bus has been a longtime goal of mine. Even if it was just in the parking lot Laughing

If anyone has any pressed bumpers in the NC area give me a shout!

Congratulations on getting the bus!

When was it made/what's the VIN?

Be sure to check out the '58 parts list (click red text in my signature line).

Wow. Before-and-after shot of front interior is badass: very nice start of a savage panel. Congrats. Any front seats? If not, I know Wolfsburg West sells new frames that should be correct, minus upholstery. Vendors all over for that, including Matt Miller and some of the big-store variety. Cheers.

Thanks, unfortunately the 36 is gone. it has a random dual port in it right now.

I plan to keep it stock with AT tires right now.

There is a lot of bondo in the nose and a little part of the roof due to some front end damage. Not sure whats gonna be under there.

Isn't John the nicest guy for helping you out! Nice pickup on getting the bumpers too. Save up and eventually get a set of Matt Miller set cover/padding kits, not cheap, but they are the very best quality and correctness. You won't regret it! Maybe get John to eventually fix up a correct 36hp engine for that Bus too. But drive and enjoy it as-is for now. Panel Buses are cool! I love my '59 Double-Door Panel, and I wouldn't dream of getting rid of it.
