I just had the great privilege of spending bout 3 hours with Norm and his wife. What a great guy. My dad worked for Norm back in the 70's and I grew up going to the shop on weekends. It was pretty amazing getting to know him and getting the history of his dealership. I have written an article about Norm and his dealership story. What a great couple - married 70 years. Hoping to spend more time with him in the future.

If you wrote an article about it, it's fine to post a link here.
It sounds interesting.

In 1975 my folks bought one of the first two Sciroccos delivered to Idaho from Norm. He had just two on that first order- a silver one and a green one. Norm's wife wanted the green one so Norm told my dad if he still wanting one he was getting the silver car! During one of the final buying visits- Norm personally gave me a silver Schuco 1/43 scale car of my dads new full size Scirocco! I have it to this day. Very nice folks and they lived two doors down from my Grandparents.

I just assembled this collage- looks like it was Jan 11, 1975! I was barely 7 years old- and the whole VW problem started right then

Very cool.

I wanted to look it up so $4735 in 1975 dollars is $21,573 today.
Not a super cheap car.

nice! Yeah, those toy cars are probably responsible for many a car 'problem' later in life.
