Well, I can honestly say that I am happy the way the body repair turned out! So what color is cool for Sharky 2? thanks! |
I guess whatever color you decide to paint it. Maybe even "shark gray". |
Or sea blue, since sharks live in the sea... or even a period MB color like DB268 "Blue Green":

Cool one! Green! That would ve cool. But i prefer the stock type 3 or other vw hues. What about a polar red? Does anyone have pictures of polar red type 3 vws? Many many thanks in advance! _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

It is easy to spray flat with no orange peel/hand sanding needed. Light machine buffing when it's 2 weeks old. Lasts good & is easy to spot repair. Shine looks 6 inches deep with no waxing needed. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

You need to try a modern BC/CC then. You can wet sand it after 24 hours and buff it up within 3 days. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Coral Red was/is an Oval Window Beetle color. No Type 3s came from the factory in that color, and I've never seen one painted Coral Red.
Here's a coral red Beetle for reference:

I have often thought about coral red on a type 3. I can remember seeing a fastback in the late 80"s painted coral red. Although not a type 3 color still a VW color that I think would look good. |

It IS a nice vintage color, and my wife has decided that our Mercedes O309D Bus will be Coral red next. Now if I can only get the time. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Recently, I visited Sharky 2 at the shop and he is getting the proper TLC he deserves.
The front end had been painted with primer.
On the right side, it was almost finished applying the primer.
The decklid was almost done too.
The right side view from the rear shot looked pretty sweet.
A closer look revealed that the roof section has to be painted soon.
This portion looks sweet. This is the left side of the bottom part of the fender where the end of the bumper resides, which fixed and the that portion was fixed and recessed to give allowance to the end of the rear bumper.
The ragtop was fixed too.But the roof section had to be addressed some more.
A shot of the inside of the rear portion of the ragtop.
The front portion of the ragtop from the inside.
Overall, Shaky 2 is getting the justice he deserved. More updates to come in the future.
Thanks,
