I discovered the 4 z bed bolts are loose, well, they are stripped. i'd like to replace them but could not find details on them in the Bentley.
Does anyone know what the size of the 4 z bed bolts are? two are longer then the other two. _________________ 1991 Vanagon GL Camper

Try 7/16" grade 8, but measure the lengths |

I'm pretty sure the long ones are M12x1 40mm long but now looking on ETKA, it looks like two part numbers : 141857757B
and 803019837 7/16"x35mm long. I must be damn there is non metric bolts in there? Prolly the bolts going into the square tube adapter that has a bolt welded to it to compensate the thickness of the plastic wall panel on the models with the folding table. The ones that go directly to the chassis on vans with cards are metric. _________________ Silicone Steering Boots and 930 Cv boots for sale in the classifieds.

If they are 7/16, then it's a seat belt bolt carry-over which typically are 7/16-20 size.
Weird that they are stripped, as it would take lots of force to do that. See if those bolts are the right size and make sure someone didn't try to put the wrong size bolts in.
I can supply thread-rolling 7/16-20 seat belt bolts that can be used to chase the internal threads. _________________ John - 86 Wolfsburg Westfalia "Weekender"

i think the ends got rounded over from the Z bed brackets and middle row seat belt bracket not lining up and the bolts being "threaded" into that misalignment. just a wild guess. _________________ 1991 Vanagon GL Camper
