Hi, found this roof rack in a VW mechanics shed about 30 years ago. It was almost unrecognisable and covered in rust . Had it cleaned up and powdered coated. It is stamped with the VW emblem. The old mechanic could not remember where he got it from and said that he had it for years. I have searched the web and can not find any other that is similar. Can any one help identify it please? Many thanks.

No I don’t believe it is as I have never seen one before here or anywhere.
Someone suggested it could’ve been for the Domestic German market. But I really don’t know. Cheers.
