That means that 44 years ago today I was 15 and somewhere between Yosemite Valley and Tuolumne Meadows. We found a few days old newspaper in the camp ground in Tuolumne Meadows with the head lines "Nixon Resigns". We were all wtf?

Bad time but a good day... finally!

Proceedings started by May 1973. It took another 15 months before he resigned. It would have been a few months after that before he would be formally impeached and removed from office (a separate procedure). So almost two years from discovery to conclusion.

September 21, 1968. Adam-12 premiered on NBC. Awesome show and I watch it whenever it's on TV.

Dec. 8, 1941 was a hugely important day in history. The morning before, 90% of Americans wanted to stay out of foreign wars, and Roosevelt had to wait until there was no other option. He gave his famous speech on the 8th to full congress declaring war on the Japanese, and over 90% of Americans were in favor (just 36 hours later).

Then on Dec. 11 Adolf declared war on the USA, and thus paved the way for his own defeat. He underestimated the Soviets as Untermenschen, and underestimated the Americans as was a "mongrel nation".

I recently had the opportunity to visit the WWII museum in New Orleans. It was an excellent experience. I learned many new things concerning timeline details of which I had not heard or read before.

Highly recommended.

I made a similar observation other day about JFK getting wasted in Dallas. It’s ancient history I guess. It’s also why the Elvis exhibition in Vegas was removed, very few people knew who he was and even less cared.

Well today in fact history was made when a record number of women were sworn into office. I think it’s going to get more interesting real soon😀

Today was the date of the last official cavalry charge by the US Army Jan. 16, 1942.
It happened during WW2 in the Philippines Islands vs the Japanese.
