Tim at dos air cooled is in flowery branch, about 45 min north of Atlanta. He is a damn awesome aircooled mechanic! Dos aircooled is off of spout springs rd in flowery branch. Pm me for his number if your interested. He is located with ARD motorsports. |

Hi all,
I'm new to TheSamba, and I searched as I only know how to do so far on here, but didn't see anything else but this thread. I'm looking for a good, fair priced VW mechanic in the west Atlanta area to work on my air cooled Beetle. I've had some work done at Herrell's, but am looking elsewhere for other alternatives. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance. |

He's not on the west side of Atlanta, but I always have to go with my dude, Vince at Vintage Wagens. He's not failed me yet. He's about 30 minutes to the east, but in my opinion, definitely worth it. |

There used to be a guy in Decatur. He’s gone.
There was another guy in Little 5. He’s gone.
Then there was a guy in Crabapple. He’s gone.
There was also a guy in Canton. Gone as well.
If Atlanta has a VW scene at all, I haven’t seen it since I moved back here in 98
Someone please correct me, I beg you. |

I would not use Vintage VW. Not exactly in Atlanta, but close. _________________ Oprn wrote: I'm getting to the age that any self propelled woman (no wheel chair or walker) looks HOT!! The one I've mainly used is Herrell's, however I see that you already know of that shop.
I've heard a lot of great reviews about Pro Flow Performance located in Hiram. I've never personally used them before, but I hear nothing but great reviews.

Not to be confused with Vintage Wagens.

There's not really a "scene" scene. But there are a lot of us around. |

Proflow has closed shop in Hiram. Steve has moved his operation to their new home in Rome. He is planning on only doing machine work and took all his lathes and machines to his home shop.. Engine building and transmission building. He closed his store front for parts sales, vehicle repair etc etc and just concentrating on building stuff...
That being said there are others here on the west side that do work besides Herrells but Herrells does has a walk in parts counter.
Kale Carter has a home shop called Aircooled Antics
Tim Baker has a brick n morter shop in Dallas called Baker Kustoms
Look them both up on facebook _________________ 1969 Westy 1915cc 044 heads 94 bore 69 stroke scatCWcrank scat lifters C25 cam straight cam gears 1:25 ratio rockers CB weber idf 40's vintage speed sport exhaust. |
