i'm hoping i can get some help with a measurement ...
we recently acquired 'Butters' ... and we are getting to know the van a bit ... day by day

We are thinking about putting on some aftermarket bumpers
either the gowesty set or the RMW twin peaks
i know there are pros/cons to each ...
but one bit of information we are looking for is the 'height' of the 2" receiver.

here is why:
we have a RWM wheel swing-mount in the frame
and we have 1up bike racks on the back of the stock(?) receiver
right now ... with the rack in the 'open' position, it is about 1-2" too high ... and does not let the swing-mount open (so we can open the hatch)

is either the RMW or GW bumper 'lower' than stock?
i measure 14" from the top of the receiver frame to the barrel lock.

can someone measure this on their RMW/GW bumper for me?

thanks
geoff

I have the RMW Pikes Peak bumper and measure 14” from the top of the receiver tube to the barrel lock.

Not a direct answer, but there are many types of adapters to raise or lower whatever is in the receiver hitch:

This may eliminate this consideration from bumper selection.

BTW, I have 1UP bike racks miumted to my RMW swing out and it works well. An option for you to consider:

yeah ... we have 4 bikes in the summer ... so can't do the swing mount style and a tire-mount ...

sooooo ....

i think the simple plan is to weld a SECOND receiver below the first one

i don't like the attachments ... since they tend to be sloppy ... and the cost of an adapter and a slop-reducer is more than the simple tube and some time on the welder

there is plenty of exit angle ... so this should be okay

cheers and thanks everyone!
