Well, it breaks my heart but we're out. With the new house and work, it's just not workable this year.
Stan, give someone our spot but be sure to reserve us for next year! _________________ -=Rob

Hold the phone! Casey & Denise, Tom "BZ" (#Fakename) and Timw Whynot (#Fakename) are there on Thursday?! Put me down for Thursday-Sat then!
I mean, it looks like there will be enough people there to feed me! _________________ John - 86 Wolfsburg Westfalia "Weekender"

Show Day information:
Please DO NOT enter the grounds of the museum before 7:30am!!!
The show is located at 15 Newton St., Brookline, MA 02445. The show is Sunday October 7th, 2018, from 9am -3:30pm. Rain or shine, we will be there either way.
Show cars are $20, CASH ONLY. Please don't show up asking to pay by check, credit card, smart phone, bitcoin or anything other than US cash. $20 includes everyone in the vehicle and museum admission is also included.
Specatator and trailer parking is on Newton St., where the museum is located. If you have a trailer, please arrive by 8am to unload. It is usually easier to park your car in the show rather than on the street. So if you have a VW bring it, join the show, and leave the Audi at home.
If you are a walk-in spectator, you will stay to the left when you enter the museum grounds. Please pay your admission to the museum staff at their table. All proceeds go toward maintaining this great museum. Please resist the temptation to sneak into the grounds to avoid paying.
Preferred vendor set-up begins at 8am. Vendor fee is $25, please try to have exact change when you enter through the registration gate. Vendors will be located on the lower lawn, surrounding a central area of show cars. This is the same as last year. We prefer vendors selling VW parts, toys or literature. If you are selling clothing or anything else, please contact me before the show, by text at 508.333-7813.
Everyone who is part of the show should stay to the right after driving into the museum grounds. All vendors and show cars must enter through our registration table on the right side of the upper lawn.
Non-vendors:
When you stop at the registration table on the way in, we will collect your admission fee and give you a yellow registration form. Please fill this out and bring it back to the registration table after you are parked. We will have pens at the table. We will then give you two more pieces of paper: one to display on your front window and one to participate in our people's choice voting. These forms are all pre-numbered with your registration number. We will also give you a dash plaque when you bring the completed yellow registration form to our table.
Each show car is given a numbered people's choice ballot. Please take a few minutes to pick your favorite vehicle in our 7 classes. These must be turned in by 1pm, or earlier if possible. This is how we decide who wins an award plaque. Please do not vote for your own vehicle! If you vote for your own vehicle, the entire ballot will be disqualified. A few people always seem to do this every year Please no "gang" voting either. I have seen this at other shows with people's choice voting and don't like it. I won't name any names, unless I have to. Please vote for your favorite vehicle and resist the temptation to vote for friend's cars.
The museum has a food vendor, restrooms and an interesting car collection. Be sure to check it out while you are at the show.
The museum grounds are spectacular. Be sure to take a walk up the hill and see more of the park if you get a chance.
And yes, dogs on a leash are OK. Please pick up after your dog and do not leave them unattended. _________________ Stan's Classic Service, specializing in air-cooled VWs:

Anyone want to bike ride to a brewery on Fri or Sat? Bent Water Brewery in Lynn. 10 miles one way. Perhaps we can eat there or find lunch nearby.
Riders should be comfortable riding in urban conditions, although I'll try to work out a safe route. |
John, Sounds like a good idea. Count me in. ---Randy--- |

Im trying to work up some interest in a leisurely bicycle ride to a brewery or two . John has put out a thought of a ride to one in Lynn. Who knows the area and can shed some thoughts on what brewery or breweries would be of interest to visit from Salem? Who might be in? or suggestions? Thx. ---R--- |

I'm in! Bent Water Brewery in Lynn is very highly rated. They have 11-13 beers on tap. There is also Notch Brewery & Tap Room in Salem, 2 miles from
The campground. We can decide as a group that morning which one to hit...or both. _________________ John - 86 Wolfsburg Westfalia "Weekender"

Really looking forward to it this year !
Wasn't able to make it last year.
Looks like it's going to be a nice warm day, and any rain is going to hold off until later (fingers crossed).
I was even able to talk a few of the guys that I worked with at the VW dealer back in the late '70's early '80's into finally coming along with me this year (Pats aren't playing , and they've never been to transporterfest before) so it's going to be a real blast for us !
Thanks again Stan for making this this whole thing happen every year !!
