For pix of John's in Vermont check my gallery on page 6 and look for Quebec Trip. Most group van pix are at John's, while singles were elsewhere.

Avoid John's Car Corner like the plague. Bought a van from him and not as advertised. Cut a deal with him on another program where he would buy my heavily modified (6 wheel, chopped) 181. He took the engine and never paid and I lost the car as a result of his prevarication. Heard lots of other stories too. Good guy to visit and shoot the bull with and oggle his scene, but never--never have any financial dealings with him.

how much for the garden hose?
does it leak water?
are they brass ends or plastic?
solid brass or plated?
how far does the water reach exiting from the hose?
can I use the hose to wash my car or only fill a kiddie pool?
what is the data code on the side of the hose?
is it rubber or polyvinyl-chloride?
does the hose coil up or only lay flat?
can you hang it on a fence or hook or only in the lawn?
could I wash my dog with the hose or would it cause him to bite me?

On the plus side, he took out all of the fence slats so that you can see the bottom of the van better. Razz

Nothing personal, I'd just feel less squeamish if every ad posted by this member didn't look like a 1970's rec room murder scene...

fresh in the classifieds,

I hate to point this out, but that isn't an 85 model year van,
without the lower grill it's an air cooled chassis made from 1980-1983.5

as for being smog exempt, that's only possible if it has a Diesel engine in it.
which nearly anything is possible, but that van body didn't come with a diesel engine.
misleading and or false pretenses are a bad way to list a vehicle for sale.

Funny, they must have received your message because they took out the smog exempt part, but they're not convinced it isn't an 85. Laughing cause that's still listed.

I sent a PM to the ad, he stated the smog was an error, he's also listing a 73 bay..
but that he has a paper title in hand.
I replied don't matter if your paper and dash vin state it's an 85,
it's not.. and gave him the link to this thread on where to find the chassis VIN.
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6983258
think I'll raise this to admin's attention.

This ad will end up like the previous thread (below) if someone does not correct it before some unknowing buyer buys it.
