Well, I disassembled my 356SC engine all the way down to the open cylinders to find one piston had apparently made impact with something, and it's stuck no matter what. Soaked it in PB blaster for a week, still no budge. I've been looking all over, I seem to remember seeing a VW tool that would clamp onto the cylinder, and then a threaded rod in the middle would twist down into the piston applying pressure while pulling on the cylinder. Can't seem to find it ANYWHERE! Anyone have any ideas? I may have to fabricate something. |

Try some heat (Propane torch) and a mallet. |

Did you look at the valves for that cyl.? That's about the only thing it could have hit. You need to split the case as you probably have a bent rod and bent push rod/s. I've found a mix of 50% Acetone and 50% ATF works the best at penetrating. Let soak over night and get a block of wood and a 3LB hammer and have at it, a few good wacks should do it. |
