I restored a RHD 1953 oval rag for some friends, and of course after it’s been done, they got the birth certificate and had M-code 079, upholstery leatherette instead of cloth. It was originally L272 Sahara Beige, does anyone know what leatherette colors were available then? |

Restored 53 with brown leatherette in the gallery. Seems right. Likely red was also an option as VW typically had two optional interiors and even then something else could have been Ordered. Unless specified on the data sheet no way to know for sure what that particular car had. |

Can you send the link of the restored ‘53? I looked through the gallery and didn’t see one. |

I should’ve done that, that was actually the original color of the one I restored. Thanks for the link! |

I checked Garwood as last resort. Beige and red beige as option. If there is a zwitter beige interior or an H pattern beige oval interior I'd likely do that. Me, if I were the owner I'd stick with the standard cloth looks waaaaaay nicer on an early oval. What it left the factory with pffft. Jmo. |
